BSME in Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science
The combined BSME in Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science (College of Engineering and Khoury College) provides expertise in both disciplines. Mechanical engineering involves the design, development, and manufacture of machinery and devices to transmit power or to convert energy from thermal to mechanical form in order to power the modern world and its machines. Its current practice has been heavily influenced by recent advances in computer hardware and software.

This program will equip you with the skills to pursue a range of careers at the forefront of technological innovation, including:
- Robotics engineer
- IoT product engineer
- Technical solutions engineer
You will have opportunities to work on active research projects with leading faculty members in our state-of-the-art labs. Research areas include:

In this program, you’ll learn to:
- Apply design principles in the construction of software systems of varying complexity.
- Use current techniques, skills, and tools necessary for effective and secure computing practice.
- Apply mathematical foundations, algorithmic principles, and computer science theory in the modeling and design of computer-based systems in a way that demonstrates comprehension of the tradeoffs involved in design choices.
