BS in Artificial Intelligence and Biology
The BS in Artificial Intelligence and Biology is a combined major (Khoury College and the College of Science) that provides a strong foundation in biology, chemistry, and mathematics, as well as programming and machine learning. Learn to apply AI techniques — from data visualization and large-scale information retrieval to machine learning and bioinformatics — while also gaining in-depth knowledge of the different biological scales of life, from molecules and cells to ecosystems and evolution. With this interdisciplinary expertise, you’ll be prepared for careers across health care, artificial intelligence, and computational biology.
Program details
This program will equip you with a powerful combination of AI and machine learning expertise alongside deep knowledge of the life sciences. Graduates are prepared to design, build, and apply intelligent systems to some of biology’s most complex challenges — opening doors to careers such as:
- AI/ML engineer in life sciences
- Computational biologist
- AI research scientist (biomedical)
- Bioinformatics scientist
- Health AI product developer
Students in this combined major have opportunities to build on their classroom learning in industry settings through co-ops. Recent related co-op experiences include:
